I have two kids in grade school this year. Which means double the teacher gifts, double the bus driver gifts, double everything! And here’s the thing. I’ve never been the amazing, craft, Pinterest-y mom who crafts meticulously personal and adorable holiday gifts. So every year I get crazy-stressed when I try to compare myself to other moms who just seem better at this stuff.

I’m going to make SUPER EASY 3-ingredient Chocolate Truffles, wrap them adorably with a festive ribbon, stick them in a holiday mug, and call it a day. The best part about this is that I can make everything I need for this gift in about an hour, and get at least 10 gifts done in that time.

To get started on my gift-attacking mission, I started by scoping out the baking display at Walmart. It was full of inspiration for easy holiday baking ideas.

Kraft Shop 1

I quickly zoomed in on a few Kraft products: Baker’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate, Kraft Caramel Bits, and Baker’s Sweetened Shredded Coconut.

Baker's Chocolate

A ton of possible ideas crowded into my head so I made my purchases and headed home to start experimenting in the kitchen.

One look at the ingredients, and I decided on truffles. They are so simple to make!

Coconut and Caramel Chocolate Truffles

  • 12 oz Baker’s Semi Sweet Chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 1/4 cup Kraft Caramel Bits
  • 1/2 cup Baker’s Shredded Coconut

  1. On the stovetop, gently heat the cream and butter until it is just barely boiling. Remove from heat.
  2. Add the chocolate to a glass bowl. Break it up into 4 pieces per bar. Slowly pour the hot cream mixture over it and let sit for 2 minutes.
  3. Stir until the whole mixture is melted and uniform.

Stir 25. Once the whole mixture is melted and lovely, put it in the freezer for 2 hours or in the refrigerator overnight.

6. Once the mixture is hardened, scoop it out with a cookie scoop. This will keep each truffle the same size. If it is too hard, you can always microwave it for 10 seconds at a time.

7. Place the truffles on a cookie sheet.

Now that these little balls of deliciousness are crafted, it’s time to assemble the gifts!

Quick & Easy Gift Tutorial: Truffles in a Mug

You’ll need:

  • festive mugs
  • clear holiday gift bags (I got mine from the dollar store)
  • holiday ribbon

First, wash and dry the mugs, making sure any price stickers are completely removed.

Place the gift bag in the mug and fill it with truffles. Gather it all at the top and secure with a festive ribbon, and gift tag if desired.

All of these supplies can be found inexpensively at the dollar store. That sure gets me in the holiday spirit!
