4 Things That Won’t Happen at ShiftCon Social Media Conference |#shiftcon

Last week I attended the Shiftcon Social Media Eco Wellness Conference. To say that it was life-changing does not overstate the impact of this first-time conference. Here are the things that WON’T happen at ShiftCon:

1. You won’t worry about GMOs in your food. Well, you will, but not the food served at ShiftCon. Founders Leah and Mark Segedie meticulously trained every member of the hotel staff in how to serve the carefully sourced organic, Non-GMO food served at the parties and breakfasts. Even the food trucks that provided lunch served organic goodies.

Literally the best Gluten-free cupcakes I’ve ever had:

2. You won’t feel like the one crunchy hippy. It felt AWESOME to be in a room full of women (and men!) who share the commitment to healthy foods and a chemical free lifestyle.

l-r: Kristina D and Melanie B from Stonyfield, Ashley Saunders from Teachable Mommy, and Anne Brock from Flour Sack Mama.

And had an awesome dinner with some of my absolute favorite ladies: Lori Alper of Groovy Green Livin, Lindsay Dahl of Lindsay Dahl.com , and Trina O’Boyle of O’Boy Organic.  These ladies get REAL.

3. You won’t come away without new blogging ideas. I learned SO much at the sessions. I wasn’t sure how they would be, honestly, because I was going more to connect with my “tribe” and network. But still, I have several new blogging strategies and ideas that I can’t wait to implement. For example, I have a renewed interest in learning about Google+ (follow me! https://plus.google.com/+SarahWhite_MindfullyFrugalMom).   I also learned from PR leaders in the industry HOW to pitch brands that align with my philosophy.

Andplusalso, I  met Gary Hirshberg (Founder of Stonyfield Farms), who I have admired for several years for his relentless commitment to labeling GMOs and keeping food organic.

4. You won’t be sedentary during Shiftcon! Friday morning I attended a killer yoga class with Travis from the Ultimate Yogi. Saturday morning was a 5K – which I slept through.

Did you miss Shiftcon this year? You’re in luck — 2015’s conference is already scheduled, and it’s at the beach!
