Disclosure: These tickets were provided by the New York State Fair
Who is going to the Fair?
The New York State Fair will showcase the best that New York State has to offer in agriculture, entertainment and education. Over a 12-day period (Aug. 21 to Sept. 1, 2014), the Fair will attract nearly one million visitors from across New York State, the U.S. and Canada.
The 2014 Fair will highlight many diverse aspects of New York State, including unique exhibits, incredible animal shows, signature State Fair food, children’s talent competitions, agricultural displays, musical entertainment and much more!
What is new at the Fair this year?
• Wade Shows Midway: The all-new Midway will feature one of the two largest traveling roller coasters in the country as part of the package of 63 rides. Five super-spectacular rides will provide thrills for thrill-seekers, while two new Kiddielands will keep families happy. For the first time ever, ride-all-day wristbands will be available every day of the Fair.
• New major exhibit – Shipwrecks of the “Great” Great Lakes: Produced with New York Sea Grant and several museums, the exhibit will reveal the hidden world of shipwrecks in New York’s waters. A remote vehicle used to hunt wrecks will patrol the State Park pond at the exhibit and show live video of what’s on the bottom.
• New entertainment:
o A new series in the Empire Theater will feature former Brady Bunch kids and comedians from the Chelsea Lately show.
o A Discover the Dinosaurs exhibit will feature several dozen animatronic dinosaurs.
o The Bubble Blast 5K Fun Run will provide bubbly fun for families and will mark the first time a race will take place during the Fair.
