Being a homeowner is a wonderful accomplishment, but owning a home comes with many, many chores, and some of them (ok, most of them), can be difficult to remember. Replacing the furnace filter, steam cleaning the carpets, and even checking the caulk in the bathtubs are all necessary but easy to overlook aspects of home ownership.
I recently received a complimentary premium membership to HomeZada, which is a home management software service that helps homeowners keep track of EVERYTHING involved with their home. From tracking expenses to home values and assessments to saving for projects, HomeZada has you covered. The first thing I did after I signed up was to look at my dashboard. I saw several home products that I realized we should be doing for proper home maintenance but simply didn’t think of.
When I saw the reminder to check the garage inventory, that’s when I realized how valuable HomeZada really is. Three years ago, my parents had a fire in their large barn. While we’re thankful it wasn’t the house, everything they had stored, including a camper, a boat, and innumerable family possessions were lost. As they went through the process of registering the contents of their barn for insurance. What I love about HomeZada is that it walks you through each room of your house, with room for photos of the room and lists of important possessions. This is invaluable information to keep a record of in case of a fire or loss.
My favorite feature though? The home design functionality. Since we moved in to our new house, the master bath has been stuck in the 70’s, and I can’t wait to update it. HomeZada lets me keep track of the products I’ll need and the money I’ll need to save to make this bathroom remodel happen.
