Best Chili Recipe made simple using Wilton Armetale Grill Pan

Recently Wilton Armetale  reached out to me to test an item from their new Grilling line.

Wait, what?  Wilton Armetale has a Grillware line? I know, in the past I had only associated Wilton Armetale  with pretty bread baskets, and that was about it. Not anymore! Grillware makes it super-easy to cook for a large group, because it can go from freezer to grill OR stove OR oven!  It also has a LIFETIME guarantee — which is good for me, since I have a tendency of breaking my cooking supplies (RIP Pyrex).

Plus, the Wilton Armetale Grillware is good-looking — it goes from cookware to serveware without dirtying another dish! I love this Grillware pan I received because it can go right on the grill — saving space on the stove. I used my deluxe Grill Pan to make the Best Chili Recipe. It was a smash — and clean up was a breeze with this one-dish dinner.

Sarah’s Best Chili Recipe (serves 4-6, can be doubled)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 pound of ground beef (I prefer local beef)
  • 1 can Southwest flavored Red Beans (I got mine at Wegmans, but you can use any kind)
  • 1 can of corn, or the kernels from 2 ears of corn
  •  2 cups of homemade salsa – yes, salsa! I make easy homemade salsa extremely chunky and fresh and store it in the freezer. I just throw the frozen chunk of salsa in the grill pan and it defrosts and the rest of the chili cooks.
  • 3 oz tomato paste
  • 2 bell peppers, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, diced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Place the Wilton Armetale Grill Pan on a large burner on high heat. Note: You can also do this on the grill!!

2. Add the oil and the ground beef, and cook, stirring ocassionally, until the meat is browned and cooked all the way through.

3. Add the salsa to the pan. If it is still frozen, give it a few minutes to defrost.

4. Reduce the heat to medium and add the rest of the ingredients. Yup, just dump everything in.

5. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.

6. Simmer on low. If you’re in a hurry, you can serve after 30 minutes of simmer time. If you want to make this earlier, you can simmer on the lowest setting for as long as 3 hours.

7. Serve hot, with a drizzle of colby jack cheese to garnish.A side of corn bread is a nice touch, too.
