I’ve been trying to rid our home of all chemical scents and products, but one thing I was having a hard time with is a Febreeze-type air freshener.
As usual, it’s essential oils to the rescue! Seriously, is there anything that EO’s aren’t good for?
This is so easy, and it works terrifically both for refreshing furniture and spraying the air. The essential oils used in this blend are known for their cleansing properties.
You can use any kind of spray bottle, but I really like the Misto Gourmet Olive Oil Sprayer – it also happens to be on sale at Amazon for $7.99, down from $15.99!
Homemade Air Freshener Spray
To a spray bottle add:
- 1/2 cup water
- 6 drops peppermint oil
- 4 drops tea tree oil
- 4 drops balsam fir or pine oil
- 4 drops orange oil OR lemon oil
Shake well and spray liberally.

Nice mix! I love using tangerine oil in my blends. Hmm, now I want to pull out all my EO.
