Doesn’t this smile just make you melt??
This is Oscar. Oscar loves drawing, making music, and playing with “guys” (action figures, little people, etc).
Oscar is 3 1/2, and he has SMA Type II. That means that the amount of physical strength he has right now is the most he will ever have. Up until two weeks ago, Oscar was dependent on others to help transport him from place to place.
Two weeks ago, Oscar got his very first power chair. For the first time, he is independently mobile, and is able to make his own decisions about where to go, what to do, and yes, what rules to break. Just like every other three year old!
But here’s the bummer. Because this awesome power chair weighs upwards of 200 pounds, Oscar can only use it at home.
That’s where you and I come in. Oscar is in the running to win a brand new Handicap Accesible Van, so that he and his parents can travel anywhere and Oscar can still experience mobility.
It takes less than a minute to vote for Oscar to win this van. You can vote once per day from now until May 13. When you vote today (you will, right?), make sure to enter code 753 to make your vote count 5 times!
So what are you waiting around here for? Go Vote for Oscar!

The website is still not allowing access, so I cannot vote today (yet). It’s 4:10 p.m.
It does seem to be down again. I don’t think the folks running this contest knew how we were going to deluge their site with votes for Oscar! I’ll let you know when it’s up and running again!
It’s back!
